DO SOME

ACTIVITIES

ON-SITE

A short walk from your chalet, you’ll find our beautiful farm-style swimming dam — the perfect spot to cool off and relax on warm summer days. From your patio, you can enjoy birdwatching or even spot some wildlife while sipping on a refreshing sundowner.

As evening falls, the bushveld comes alive — listen to the distant call of jackals, gaze up at the starlit sky, and unwind safely around your boma fire with a peaceful braai. If you’re lucky, you might even hear the lions and other animal sounds from a safe distance!

Now that Adama is fully fenced out from the rest of the reserve, guests can safely enjoy outdoor activities such as cycling (bring your kids’ bikes!), meditating in the bushveld, walking among the birdlife, or having a relaxing picnic in nature or at the swim dam area.

We kindly ask that guests respect others’ privacy by not walking on or near the roads leading to other chalets.

About Dinokeng Game Reserve

About Dinokeng Game Reserve

Although Adama Chalets & Teepees are now fenced out from Dinokeng, we remain proud to be located right next to the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve — the first and only Big 5 reserve in Gauteng where wild animals roam freely near urban areas.

Just over an hour’s drive from both Johannesburg and Pretoria, Dinokeng is a remarkable public-private conservation initiative that began in the early 2000s. The reserve offers a variety of experiences, from self-drive routes and guided game drives to excellent restaurants, birdwatching, and scenic bushveld landscapes.
