Our beautiful and artistically decorated chalets & teepees offer a wonderful & serene atmosphere, each set at least 50 meters apart, and therefore ensuring complete privacy away from the other guests. Our larger, original chalets were built in the traditional manner – with straw and daub, and our more intimate couple chalets are very quaint and have maintained the same adobe style and feel that our guests have come to know over the years, with an equally charming design in way of colour, and with reed ceilings & tin roofs.
Ostrich / Volstruis is one of our newest eco-friendly chalets in Adama. This very private and cone-shaped wooden style chalet and can sleep one couple comfortably. It is perfectly suited for a romantic couple’s getaway, as it has a 360 degree view from inside the chalet to view our wildlife from all angles. This chalet has an open plan look and feel with a reed divider/headboard separating the kitchen/lounge area from the bedroom. There is a queen-sized bed in the bedroom, with a futon sleeper couch in the dining area, surrounded by three big windows overlooking the bushveld.
Ostrich / Volstruis has electricity, a small bathroom with shower and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, gas stove, kettle, toaster, microwave, and the crockery and all of the furniture is handmade by the owners.
Linen & towels are provided, but guests are required to bring along their own swimming towels and toiletries (eg. shampoo, bath soap, etc.) for the visit.
There is a private boma area in front of the chalet which is enclosed by fencing, and we provide 2 complimentary bags of wood with a braai roster, adequate for the first night, but there is also a convenience shop, just 2km away, where any extra snacks, drinks or more wood can be bought to replenish your stock.
