Our beautiful and artistically decorated chalets & teepees offer a wonderful & serene atmosphere, each set at least 50 meters apart, and therefore ensuring complete privacy away from the other guests. Our larger, original chalets were built in the traditional manner – with straw and daub, and our more intimate couple chalets are very quaint and have maintained the same artistic style and feel that our guests have come to know over the years, with an equally charming design in way of color, and with reed ceilings & tin roofs.
Woodpecker / Houtkapper is one of our newest partially enclosed chalets a few meters away from the communal swimming dam / bush pool.
It can sleep 4 adults and one child or 2 adults and 3 children comfortably. It is perfectly suited for a small family or a couple of friends on a fun filled weekend getaway, as it has an open plan kitchen, dining and living room with doors that opens to a big patio and boma area outside the chalet.
There is a queen-sized bed in the main bedroom, with 2 single beds in the second bedroom as well as a single sized couch bed in the lounge.
Woodpecker / Houtkapper has electricity, a bathroom with a shower and toilet. There is also a fireplace inside the lounge, for those cold winter months.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, gas stove, kettle, toaster, microwave, and the crockery and most of the furniture is handmade by the owners.
Linen & towels are provided, but guests are required to bring along their own toiletries (e.g. shampoo, bath soap, etc.) for the visit.
There is a private patio & boma braai pit area at the chalet, and we provide an initial complimentary bag of wood, a braai rack and braai grid, adequate for the first night, but there is also a convenience shop, just 2km away, where any extra snacks, drinks or more wood can be bought to replenish your stocks.
